I recently used a different optometrist (optician) and my prescription has changed. I now have a higher astigmatism correction in my glasses but a lower magnification. My concern is thay the magnification in my previous prescription gives me better distance detail and doesn’t feel over magnified. The optometrist seemed to be trying to tell me that the new lower magnification will be made up by my the astigmatism correction. Do I understand that correctly? Is that true? Is it like a cocktail and you can use slightly different percentages of ingredients but still come out with the same drink?
