I've read a book which argues that the modern society, which exposes us to the light even in night, has caused increase of insomnia.

But I failed to find the evidence (journal article) that shows the increase of the morbidity of insomnia either within the modern society, or across the eras.

Is there any epidemiological, sociological, or anthropological evidence that has shown the increase of insomnia in the modern society?
